Samascott's Garden Market on Chatham Street in Kinderhook is the family's retail market, open seven days a week from 9 AM to 7 PM, with an ice cream window open until 8 PM. Its seven-acre corn maze is open daily through September and October.
How does the corn maze work?
Buy maze tickets inside the store, then head into the field. Entry starts at 11 AM and the last entry is 4 PM. The 2026 maze has a sunflower theme with facts posted along the paths.
Is there a prize for the kids?
Eight hidden stations each have a hole punch that matches an icon on your ticket. Find all eight and you earn a free small soft-serve, or $1 off a hard ice cream.
Can we bring a stroller or the dog?
Strollers are not recommended, since it is a real cornfield with mud and uneven ground. Dogs are welcome on a leash.
What is there to eat?
The bakery makes apple cider donuts, pies, breads and muffins, and the market has homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and tamales, with gluten-free and vegan options.
