Home / Rulfs Orchard - Peru, New York Fall Activities

Rulfs Orchard on Bear Swamp Road in Peru is a family farm market and bakery whose story goes back to 1952. The store is open every day from 6 AM to 6 PM, and in the fall it adds a u-pick pumpkin patch, a corn maze and a petting zoo.
How does pumpkin picking work?
On weekends from 10 AM to 4 PM, and on Columbus Day, wagons run out to the patch. Drive down to the berry fields, check in at the red trailer and pay first: the wagon is $1 a person and each picked pumpkin is $12.
Can we get a pumpkin on a weekday?
Yes. Pre-picked pumpkins sit on the lawn beside the store and in the greenhouse, at 75 cents a pound and never more than $12. On weekdays you pay for them at the bakery counter.
Can we bring the dog?
Not for u-pick. The farm asks visitors to leave dogs at home when picking, to protect the food it grows.
Is there still apple picking?
Apple picking usually lasts until the first weekend in October, so check before you go. There are also apples in the store, plus cider, doughnuts, a play area and the petting zoo.
