Home / Heckman Orchards - Effort, Pennsylvania Fall Activities
Heckman Orchards on Route 115 in Effort is a Pocono Mountains family farm market that has been running since 1962. In the fall it sells pumpkins, gourds, apples, apple cider, winter squash and other seasonal produce, and it is open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Can we pick our own apples this fall?
No. The farm says that because of the April freeze there are no pick-your-own apples this year. Apples are still sold at the market.
Is there pick-your-own pumpkins?
The farm has said pumpkin picking dates will be posted for the fall, so call (570) 629-1191 before you go to find out whether the patch is open.
What else does the farm grow?
Strawberries, tart cherries, peaches, apples, sweet corn and tomatoes come through the summer. In December the farm also offers pick-your-own Christmas trees on weekends.
