Country Barn on South Donerville Road in Lancaster has been running a pick-your-own pumpkin patch since 1996, with wagon rides out to more than 10 acres of pumpkins. Its fall play area, Barnyard Kingdom, adds a corn maze, a petting zoo and plenty for kids to climb on.
When is Barnyard Kingdom open?
Saturdays 10 AM to 5 PM and Sundays 11 AM to 5 PM in September and October, plus Fridays 10 AM to 5 PM in October. It is closed Monday through Thursday.
Do we need tickets?
Yes, tickets are needed for Barnyard Kingdom. Pumpkins you pick are weighed when you return to the market, and there are pre-picked pumpkins there too if you would rather skip the field.
Can we do the maze after dark?
Yes. Flashlight maze nights begin after Barnyard Kingdom closes at 5 PM, on Fridays in October and Saturdays in September and October, with campfires. The Country Kitchen serves food and drinks until 9 PM.
What else is in Barnyard Kingdom?
Giant slides, wagon rides, a hedge maze, gem mining and fossil digs, trike rides and duck and pig races. The season wraps up with Pumpkin Demolition Day on November 7.
